Product Shot 1 The Pros:Comes in a number of bright and fun colors. Easy enough for a kid to pick up and start using right away. Image stabilization is pretty good, handheld photos stay pretty clear.

The Cons:Photos are a bit low resolution. Doesn't come with much internal memory, need to make sure you buy a memory card right away.

Vivitar's ViviCam 8324 is an entry-level digital camera that falls in the middle of Vivitar's compact camera lineup. Many of its features are similar to the ViviCam 8225, with a few differences. The main changes are that this model has a 3x digital zoom as opposed to 2x, has twice the internal memory capacity, at 32MB, and that it does not have a rechargeable battery - the 8324 uses 2 AAA batteries.

It has an 8.1 megapixel total resolution and 8x digital zoom, and a 2.4" LCD screen for taking and viewing pictures. It has other point-and-shoot features such as red-eye reduction, digital image stabilization and both face and smile detection. This camera has a video capture mode that supports up to 30 frames per second, and has automatic and other preset white balance modes. The internal memory can be expanded up to 8 gigabytes using an SD card. Other features include automatic ISO selection and 2- or 10-second self-timer.
