Product Shot 1The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P51 is a midgrade point-and-shoot, compact digital camera geared strictly for non-professional use. As an upgrade from the DSC-P41, the DSC-P51 adds along a lens with a 2x optical zoom and 3x digital zoom, although the CCD sensor is lowered from 4MP to 2MP.

The result is a lowered still image resolution of 1600x1200, but improved contrast, brightness, and sharpness. The unit can also record MPEG videos up to 320x240 @16fps, as well as capture 10 simultaneous images and convert them to an animated GIF. Additional features include rechargeable NiMH batteries, a 1.6” LCD display, and the ability to create a single 1280x960 image from 16 separate 320x240 frames.
