Part of a new crop of digital cameras announced by Samsung in mid 2008, the TL34HD (known as NV100HD outside of the USA) packs a whopping 14.7 megapixel CCD sensor into a compact digital camera. The 3.6x optical zoom lens has a maximum width of 28mm, a moderate wide angle that many compact digital cameras do not include.

The movie mode captures video in 720p high definition, and allows for use of optical image stabilization and optical zoom while shooting. The rear of the camera is dominated by a 3" LCD touchscreen, which Samsung claims makes interacting with the menu system faster and more intuitive.

#samsung_tl34hd This camera looks too good to be true - and I guess the devil's in the details. Still for the price I'd probably seek out this camera before any other point and shoot.
