The SL420 captures 10.2 megapixel high resolution photos, and records 640 x 480 resolution videos. The camera itself is powered by a rechargable lithium-ion battery (included) that can be charged via a power cable which comes with the device. Integrated face detection software means that users don't have to worry about fitting their smiles into the frame; as the camera will adjust accordingly. The SL420 also includes a 5x optical zoom, digital and dual image stabilization support, and a 2.7 inch LCD display screen (230,000 pixels). Additionally the SL420 records videos into the MJPEG/ SVGA media formats. When compared to the similar lower end model (Samsung SL102), the SL420 has a larger display screen, larger optical zoom, and dual image stabilization support which the lower end model does not include.
