The SL102 captures 10.2 megapixel high resolution photos, and records 640 x 480 resolution videos. The camera itself is powered by a rechargable lithium-ion battery (included) that can be charged via a power cable which comes with the device. Integrated face detection software means that users don't have to worry about fitting their smiles into the frame; as the camera will adjust accordingly. The SL102 also includes a 3x optical zoom, digital image stabilization support, and a 2.5 inch LCD display screen (230,000 pixels). Additionally the SL102 records videos into the MJPEG/ VGA media formats. When compared to the similar higher end model (Samsung SL420), the SL102 has a smaller screen, smaller optical zoom, and no dual image stabilization support. Both models in Samsung's latest compact digital camera lineup are scheduled for a spring, 2009 release.
