The Samsung ES80 is a lower mid-cost compact digital camera. The twelve megapixel image sensor of this camera, which allows you to make high-quality 24" x 16" prints, is one of the features that differentiates this model from the slightly higher cost PL20 model, which has a fourteen megapixel sensor.

Another feature that makes this model less expensive than the PL20 is its standard format video capture, which does not match the PL20's 720p HD video capturing abilities. A feature shared by the two compacts is the 5x optical zoom lens, which helps to bring your subject closer for detailed shots.
