Ricoh G700

The G700 from Ricoh is a middle-end digital camera designed for outdoor use. When compared to another digital camera by Ricoh from the same series, the G600, both cameras share certain features. For example, both cameras are water, dust, and shock resistant.

However, the G700 has some higher specs, as it has a higher water resistance grade (8 compared to 7). The shock resistance of the G700 is created by strengthened glass and body protectors. Using these, it is able to withstand 2 meter drops safely from twenty six different positions. During testing, it even succeeded at being just as durable with the power on. The chemical resistance of the camera lets it safely be disinfected using ethanol or sodium hypochlorite, letting it safely be used within medical facilities. The water resistance of the camera lets it stay underwater for up to two hours, at a depth of five meters, enabling underwater photography. This also allows photography in the rain, and allows the user to wash it in water in case it ends up getting dirty.
