$199.99 Released March, 2011

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Zoom range is good and maintains its sharpness throughout. Takes clear and well-rendered video footage. Slim and sleek design that fits comfortably in any pocket.

The Pentax Optio S1 is a mid-range to high-end compact digital camera with a 14 megapixel CCD sensor and a 2.7" LCD display. It features 5x optical zoom, an aluminum-alloy housing and automatic Shake Reduction for clearer images.

Additionally, the Optio S1 sports 720p HD video recording and wireless remote shooting with the sold-separately Pentax remote control.

The Optio S1's 5x optical zoom offers focal lengths from 28mm wide angle to 140mm telephoto, allowing it to handle any situation from landscapes to tightly framed snapshots. Its aluminum-alloy housing provides the Optio S1 with a smooth, modern look while ensuring a higher level of shock and crush resistance as compared to cameras with plastic housings. Meanwhile, the Optio S1's Shake Reduction compensates for jittery hands and general camera shakiness, ensuring clear images even in demanding conditions.
