A 3-inch HVGA LCD display serves as both a viewfinder and playback reference, where users can select from a variety of pre-configured shooting modes and special effects filters for making the most of their captured stills. A 4cm macro mode is also available that aims to mimic the capabilities of specialized SLR lenses, working alongside the camera's 9-point autofocus for a wide variety of shooting environments. HD video recording at 720p resolution is offered at 30 frames-per-second, with SD, SDHC and SDXC card support for expanding on the RZ18's 96 megabytes of removable memory.
