The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZR1 is a compact digital camera released in 2009 as a younger, less-featured competitor to the high-powered TZ series. It is built with a more compact frame, yet still equipped with a high-powered 8x optical zoom.

At its core is a 25mm ultra wide-angle LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR lens that Panasonic boasts as being the first ever aspherical AND spherical lens ever produced in the industry. This combined with the 12.1-megapixel CCD allow the DMC-ZR1 to effectively capture shots from both wide landscapes and tight indoor environments in up to a 1920x1080 HD resolution. Included also is high-definition, motion-picture recording up to 1280x720p at 30fps. The most promoted feature of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZR1 is its wide-array of ADVANCED picture-taking technology: Intelligent Auto Mode, Advanced Face Recognition, Optical Image Stabilizer, AF Tracking, and a myriad of Scene Modes.
