Its form factor is slightly thicker than the 5x models but nonetheless stresses portability as a main feature. Other features include HD video recording, a 3" LCD display, automatic scene selection based on manually-selectable presets, and autofocus tracking for moving subjects. This model also features Olympus' standard filter program that applies effects to images or video after they've been taken. The longer zoom means that the VR-310 has a slightly smaller max aperture than the lower VR models, and it is also about 35 grams heavier. It still uses rechargeable batteries and comes in four colours.
