Product Shot 1 The Pros:Affordable cost. Compact and light. Solid build.

The Cons:Not the best quality photos. Poor lens performance. Basic point and shoot camera.

The Casio Exilim EX-Z85 is an ultra-compact digital camera, the entry-level camera of the Exilim line of cameras.  It is lightweight, thin, and multi-functional.  It has a 3x optical zoom lens compared to a 4x in its big brothers, the EX-Z250 or EX-Z300.

Product Shot 2  Digital Photography (DP) Review, on its web site, reports that the EX-Z85 is a high performing, stylish, 9.1 effective megapixel camera.  It shares many features with its big brothers such as Auto Shutter function that uses blur detection technology to automatically take a photo when handshake or subject movement stops according to DP 's review.  The manufacturer claims that the Easy Mode makes it simple for beginners leaving only three settings, flash, self timer and image size, for the user to set.  The differences between this camera and Exilim's top-of-the-line cameras are the size of the LCD display, in camera editing features not available in the EX-Z85, and the ability to play back directly from the camera on a plasma or HD television.  Size is the theme here with the EX-Z85 only 0.75” thick and weighing an ounce less than the EX-Z300. This is a lightweight, ultra- compact camera made for beginners and experienced photographers.
